Welcome to Books and Beans! Here, we aim to create a space where you can explore the world of literature while enjoying a cup of your favorite drink. Our goal is to provide a cozy and welcoming environment for book lovers and coffee enthusiasts alike.
Books & Beans started as a shared dream between Ana Maria Vallejo Perez and Daan Severijns, two passionate book lovers who wanted to create more than just a bookstore. We envisioned a space where people could come together over great stories, rich coffee, and meaningful conversations.
Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. Our focus is on English-language literature, particularly in fantasy and sci-fi, but we welcome all readers. Our goal is to create a space that is kind and open for everyone, even if you don't read in English. Make sure you also check out our café and have a nice cup of coffee and a cinnamon roll!
Sustainability is very important to us that's why we strive to work with ethical suppliers and offer eco-friendly products whenever possible.

Meet our quality inspectors:
At Books & Beans, we take quality very seriously. So seriously, in fact, that we’ve hired two full-time, highly unqualified yet extremely enthusiastic Quality Inspectors, our cats, Taco & Bean.
🫘 Bean – The Namesake & Coffee Connoisseur Bean isn’t just a cat; he’s part of the reason for our name! While "Beans" originally came from our love of coffee, this little guy made sure we never forgot the other Beans in our life. He takes his job seriously, whether it’s inspecting book stacks by sitting on them, ensuring coffee mugs are warm by curling up next to them, or providing top-tier moral support (aka napping).
🌮 Taco – The Unofficial, Slightly Offended Mascot Taco, on the other hand, is still a little salty that we didn’t name the shop Books & Tacos, but in our defense, we don’t actually sell tacos. That hasn’t stopped him from demanding attention, supervising orders (by knocking things off desks), and ensuring all packaging materials are, in fact, excellent to play with.
Together, these two make sure everything at Books & Beans meets the highest feline standards: comfy reading spots, top-tier coffee, and just enough cat hair to remind you of their presence.
